During the 79th International Institute of Welding Annual Assembly (IIW2026),
visitors had the opportunity to discover the DILAPRO project at the European
Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF) stand, learning more about its innovative
work in laser-based additive manufacturing.
As part of these ongoing dissemination activities, the project recently took part in the
International Conference in Salzburg on 17 July, where the team delivered a dedicated
presentation: "Digital Twin Integration for Enhanced Quality Assurance and Certification in Laser-Based Manufacturing: The DILAPRO Approach"
Driving the Digital Transformation:
The session showcased how the project is leveraging digital twin technology to seamlessly
connect production, quality assurance, and certification in laser-based additive
manufacturing.
Through DILAFACT and DILACERT, DILAPRO is actively working towards:
· More data-driven production decisions
· Continuous, real-time quality monitoring
· Streamlined certification processes that are faster, more reliable, and closely aligned with
industrial requirements
This presentation provided a valuable platform to share our methodology with the wider
international manufacturing community, contributing directly to important discussions on the
digital transformation of high-precision production.
