DIgital LAser PROduction: Digital Twins of Laser Processing for Multi-Capability Manufacturing of Complex Components and Certification

Advancing Digital Twins at 4DMDA 2026

On 9 and 10 July, the DILAPRO project celebrated a successful participation at the 4D Materials Design and Additive Manufacturing Conference 2026 (#4DMDA2026), held at Dublin City University.

The project was prominently featured during the event through a dedicated presentation: "Incorporating Models and Sensor Data into Digital Twins: DILAPRO".

The presentation offered a fantastic opportunity to showcase how DILAPRO is exploring the integration of advanced models and real-time sensor data into digital twins for additive manufacturing. This work contributes directly to wider industry discussions surrounding process modelling, continuous monitoring, and next-generation manufacturing techniques.

Bringing together cutting-edge perspectives from materials design, computer simulation, additive manufacturing, and 3D/4D printing, the conference provided an ideal setting to:
· Exchange knowledge with leading international researchers and industry experts
· Connect DILAPRO’s ongoing work with current scientific and technological advancements in the field

We are delighted to have represented the project in Dublin and look forward to continued collaboration with the wider #4DMDA community!
